
Arunasalam Nesaratnam (17th March 1914 – 29th October 2003) was Assistant High Commissioner for Ceylon in Malaya. He also worked in Ceylon, Australia, Burma and London. These memoirs cover much of his life until his retirement in London in 1972, and highlight a time of change in the post-war world and the move to independence for many countries. The story of the book…
The memoirs were handwritten by Arunasalam Nesaratnam throughout the 1990s and then typed up and organised between 2004 and 2010 by his granddaughter Dhamayanthi Sangarabalan and husband Gareth Warner. The book and website was finished on 31st August 2010, Malaysian Independence Day, 53 years after the first Merdeka celebrations.
